The station, which broadcasts its digital signal on virtual and UHF channel 30, is owned by HC2 Holdings. The station is affiliated with Quest, a Cooper Media-owned travel, historical, science, and adventure-focused documentary and reality series show-oriented network.

The station’s construction permit was initially issued on February 22, 2011 under the calls of W30DI-D. The current WSDI-LD calls were assigned on February 8, 2017.

The station identification placard presently in use on-air denotes Indianapolis.
