WNEP is the American Broadcasting Company affiliate for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre television market. This station is owned by Tegna Inc. The station's studios are on Montage Mountain Road in Moosic, PA and it's transmitters are on the top of Penobscot Knob in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. It is the most watched station in the market.

The station used to be two separate ABC affiliates, WILK on channel 34 and WARM on channel 16. WILK was operating in Wilkes Barre while WARM operated in Scranton. Knowing that Wilkes Barre and Scranton are rival cities, it was apparent that bot cities would be in the same DMA. WILK and WARM merged into WNEP, which took the channel 16 frequency from WARM.
